Euan Mitchell, PhD: Geologist, geochemist, and GIS professional. Amateur web application developer and part-time blogger. Living in Edinburgh, Scotland.

I received my undergraduate M.E.Sci. Hons. degree in Geology from the University of Liverpool in 2005, and subsequently moved to the US for graduate school. I received an M.S. in Earth and Planetary Sciences from the University of New Mexico in 2007 and my Ph.D., also in Earth and Planetary Sciences, from the University of New Mexico in 2013.

I taught for three years each at Washington and Lee University, in Lexington VA, and Miami University, in Oxford OH, before leaving academia and returning to Scotland in late 2019. I started an M.Sc. in GIS at the University of Edinburgh in September 2020.
